A B O U T  M E

Now based in Toronto, DeVaughn David has 40 years of experience playing the piano professionally.  DeVaughn’s style is versatile – Honkytonk to Jazz to Pop to Broadway. He has accompanied professional singers and Canadian actors.  He has been the resident piano player for dinner and cocktail music at three major Kitchener-Waterloo hotels and restaurants, as well as at Centro’s, the King Edward and Royal York hotels, the Valhalla Inn, the Inn on the Park and the Gardner Glass Museum here in Toronto.  DeVaughn is noted for his ability to take requests, having over 500 tunes at his fingertips.

DeVaughn also frequently performs at weddings, bar mitzvahs, corporate events, cocktail parties, fashion shows, art galleries and other festive occasions.



DeVaughn was the National Piano Player for the Canadian Women’s Gymnastics Team from 1977 to 1980.  He arranged and created specialized music to complement each gymnast in her floor exercise routine, which he performed live in competition.

DeVaughn has been a back-up singer for the Mercey Brothers and for radio jingles.

A graduate piano major from the University of Western Ontario, DeVaughn also obtained a Bachelor of Education degree and taught instrumental and vocal music for 30 years.
